My first handpainted Vinyl Toys
Last week I have been challenged with painting my first Vinyl Toys. After being focused on painting on canvas or wood for so long, and after sewing many Plush Toys, I thought it´s finally time to check out Vinyl Soft Toys. So I ordered myself Munny and Rooz from Kidrobot.
I was very excited when I started to paint these two little creatures but quickly found out that painting on vinyl works quite different than painting on canvas or wood. The color didn`t look so great, the details had to be so tiny that it was hard to find such little paintbrushes in my assortment. Needless to say that my oil pastels were smearing allover the place.

The first day of painting my Munnies turned out to be really frustrating and I had to paint them over and over again. First I focused on Munny and transmuted him into Hansi. A little character with big Alien eyes and a rabbit face.

After that I turned over to Rooz and turned him into the character of "Little Greta". She was great fun to do because I really enjoyed giving her a cute look.
After my first experience of painting some vinyl toys and after a few days of deep frustration, the passion for painting more of these little creatures took over. As soon as I had varnished Hansi and Little Greta, I ran back to my computer and ordered some more blank vinyl toys. They arrived today already and I can`t wait to start working with them, as I enjoy the company of Little Greta and Hansi during the meantime : )
